Cymbopogon martinii
Palmarosa essential oil has a fresh, softly sweet, floral aroma similar to rose. Though its name, Palmarosa, makes it sound like it might be a tree or a rose plant, this essential oil actually comes from a grass that is dried then steam distilled. As a grass that can grow almost 10 feet tall, and with its bright, shining aroma, it’s no wonder the plant requires abundant sunshine to grow. Palmarosa essential oil contains a high percentage of geraniol, which is one of the same primary aroma constituents in Rose essential oil. Palmarosa is is often found in cosmetic and skin care products.
Diffusion: Add a few drops to your diffuser. Topical use: Apply 1-2 drops to desired area. Dilute with a carrier oil to minimize any skin sensitivity. See additional precautions below.
Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. If contact occurs with the skin, dilute generously with a carrier oil.
