Consistently one of dōTERRA’s best sellers, Peppermint is always a useful oil to have on hand. Peppermint adds a refreshing, minty taste to desserts, beverages, smoothies, and even savoury dishes. A high menthol content – like that found in the dōTERRA Peppermint essential oil – distinguishes the best quality Peppermint oil from other products. Peppermint is also frequently used in toothpaste and chewing gum for oral care.
Caraway essential oil comes from the caraway plant, a member of the carrot family and a cousin to dill, fennel, anise, and cumin. The caraway plant grows in grasslands and cultivated fields native to Europe, Asia, and northern Africa. The plant looks like fennel with clusters of small, white flowers in a flat-topped flower head, and grows approximately 60cm tall. A biennial plant, caraway generally begins blooming and producing seeds in its second year. The long and tiny seeds are then collected, crushed, and transformed into Caraway essential oil through steam distillation. Caraway seeds may be small, but these tiny packages yield an essential oil bursting with compounds that offer a range of powerful properties. The distinct aroma comes from D-Carvone and limonene, a constituent commonly found in citrus oils that’s known for its cleansing properties. This makes Caraway essential oil an ideal tool for oral care and keeping teeth looking clean.
Sourced from Madagascar, dōTERRA Ginger essential oil is derived from the fresh rhizome of the ginger plant – the subterranean stalk of a plant that shoots out the root system. A featured ingredient in many Asian dishes, Ginger has a hot, fragrant flavour when used as a kitchen spice. In Western tradition, Ginger is most often used in sweets like gingerbread and ginger snaps.
